About A Human Made Me
A Human Made Me is a web-of-trust service for verifying human authorship of creative works.
The Problem
As AI-generated content becomes more prevalent, it's increasingly difficult to distinguish human-made creative works from machine-generated ones. Existing solutions rely on centralized authorities or technical detection methods that are easily fooled.
Our Approach
We use a web-of-trust model, similar to PGP key signing. Instead of relying on a central authority, verification comes from people you personally trust.
How it works:
- Submit a work — Upload your file. We compute a SHA-256 hash that uniquely identifies its contents.
- Attest — Declare that a work was made by a human ("human-made") or that you are its author ("authored-by").
- Build trust — Mark other users as trusted. When someone you trust attests to a work, you'll see it as verified.
Trust Model
Trust is direct and binary — you either trust someone or you don't. When you view a work:
- Attested — You or someone you trust has attested to this work.
- Untrusted — Attestations exist, but none from people you trust.
- Unattested — No attestations exist for this work.
